Our view

The knee jerk reaction to all the madness that is going on in the world is to worry and to focus on the unpredictable nature of it all.

But consider what is predictable.

Our friends across the Atlantic want to make money, they want to be in the driving seat of all technology, and they are going to push this agenda hard. The situation has become akin to a cold-war on tech development between the US and China.

This means that the chance of slowing up on the adoption of AI and automation within businesses is pretty small. The big tech firms are having previous controls that would slow progress removed so they can power on ahead.

What does this mean for us SMEs here in the UK?

We need to keep up for sure, but we need to be mindful of the risks and implications the removal of controls has on technology. We therefore need to adopt with our eyes open and not panic buy.
