Curious about Podcasting?
If you're like many of us, there's no doubt you've discovered podcasts. Celebrities from Joe Rogan to Tim Ferriss are churning them out at an amazing pace & making a lot of money doing it. Podcasting is both an art & a science but with a little effort, you can soon be on your way to making your own podcasts too. How you do your podcast is really up to you, however the following are the steps that most people take. Here are the four main steps in the process of making a podcast, outlined in chronological order:
STEP 01 - CONCEPT
Perhaps the most important stage, this is where the magic happens because without a great concept, you won't have a great podcast. Once your concept is identified, it's time to prepare your show. Solid research is crucial, however how you schedule or plan the framework of your podcast is also important to ensure that it flows from beginning to end.
The following are a few questions you might ask yourself when planning your podcast:
- How will you communicate with and prepare your guests before the recording?
- Are you planning on doing a formal introduction of your show or guests?
- Are your questions well researched and relevant?
- Have you asked your guest(s) if there are any questions or subjects to avoid?
- Are you anticipating any off-topic banter and if so, are you prepared for that?
