Creative for a Cause AMA with Jess
Last week, we hosted a fun Creative for a Cause “Ask Me Anything” series on our Instagram with our very own Jessica Anderson - a 2022 Creative for a Cause participant turned rockstar Account Coordinator.
Here are some of the questions we received:
Q: What makes a standout application?
A: Creativity is key! We're looking to understand why you want to participate and what sort of creative thinking you'll bring to the table in your plan. Make sure you show us your excitement behind the cause!
Q: How was your experience last year?
A: It was so much fun! We had the opportunity to apply the skills we had learned in school to a real-life scenario which gave us a chance to understand how it all works - from receiving a brief to brainstorming, writing a plan, and presenting it to a real “client”.
We also had the chance to meet with a Craft mentor to answer questions and get advice on our plan, so the feedback was very useful!
Q: Did you find the presentations intimidating?
A: I was really nervous at first, but once we got into our presentation it was just fun to share our ideas with the judges! Plus everyone at Craft is so welcoming and friendly (I thought this before working here too!).

Q: Is this how you got your internship?
A: No! But the experience did give me some valuable insight into who Craft was and definitely made me want to apply!
Q: What is First Book Canada and why is this in support of them?
First Book Canada is a Canadian non-profit that aims to increase access to literature and quality education for children in need.
They do this by making everything from brand-new books and educational resources to winter coats and backpacks more affordable to its member network of more than 10,000 educators who exclusively serve kids in need.
First Book Canada has been our charitable partner for the last 5 years - and we love them!
Applications for Creative for a Cause 2023 are open until February 13, 2023. Click this link to learn more and apply today!
