Creating EventbriteGPT

I mentioned previously I am interested in automating some of the more important aspects of developer relations. In particular, I wanted to automate events planning and scheduling.

I found an excellent thread by Rowan Cheung on how to build a GPT using Actions and decided to integrate with the Eventbrite API to automate events planning. Zapier Actions allow you to rapidly create automated API calls to thousands of APIs such as Eventbrite.

Here are the basic steps (Paraphrasing Rowan's thread):

• Start your own GPT and go to "Configure Actions"
• Use the "Import from URL" to import the Zapier OpenAPI schema linked here
• Create a new Zapier Action using this link, fill in all the fields to configure the Zap
• Copy / Paste the Zapier Actions instructions and modify the confirmation link at the bottom into the instructions field
• Fill in a privacy policy, I used the Eventbrite privacy policy
• Save & Publish the GPT and test it

Result

It took me less than 30 minutes to create a custom GPT to create new events, help locate venues. This is pretty exciting, will be gathering feedback and extending it in the future if people find it interesting.

When you use EventbriteGPT and ask it to schedule an event, it will help you locate a venue, avoid major holidays and create the event dynamically within the chat once you have linked your Eventbrite account.
