Consultants - who needs them??
How often do you hear people say "I should have made that move years ago"?
It's certainly the case for me and the return to a consultancy role (when not working for the super, Swim England).
I spent the day with a hospital charity in the East Midlands and ideas flowed freely; to work with passionate charity advocates, planning strategies, getting in the mindset of potential donors and preparing that essential "elevator pitch" is one of life's pleasures.
It could be argued that I brought zilch to the table that they did not already know - but for the client and for the consultant - it can just need a fresh perspective and that edge of empowerment to press on with ideas that have been germinating for some time.
And, from a personal perspective, to work with passionate people at the highest level; to know that 25+ years of experience is valued, and to collectively bring massive benefits to some wonderful communities is about as rewarding as it gets.
And, in terms of the photo, who would not want to work with this motley crew (allowing for the mini-Mogans out of shot with the very big hands!!). Pictured, IT whiz, Steve, Diane, Karen and moi.
Vastly experienced fundraiser across sectors/aspects of income generation; alumni, hospitals, cathedrals, sports, arts, medical, heritage causes: Working part-time for Swim England and a range of clients nationwide
