Canadian Manufacturing: Digital Disruption, Transformation Opportunities and How They Can Be Achieved - Help Wanted!

I am collaborating with the IT Media Group on a research project, examining digital disruption and how transformation can be better achieved in the Canadian manufacturing sector.

I am asking for your help.

As part of the study we are interviewing leaders of information technology functions and business areas that will be using the technology, especially including operations / supply chain and sales / marketing.

The project examines manufacturing companies’ understanding of the impact that digital transformation will have, their needs, responses so far and lessons learned.

We are especially interested in understanding how different functions in the business are viewing their future use of information technology in areas such as automation, the internet of things, data, machine learning / artificial intelligence and blockchain. We are not just looking for businesses that are using these technologies now, but also those who may be at an early stage in their transformation and/or have already been disrupted by others’ use of them.

I would be very grateful for your help in two ways:

1.      Participating in an interview yourself if you are working in manufacturing.

2.      Connecting me with one other leader in your organisation who would be willing to participate in an interview, who is either in an operations/supply chain role or sales/marketing – both would be even better!

The interviews will take about 30 minutes and most will be conducted by phone. We would also like to do some of them face to face, so if you are willing to do that please indicate it in your response. The interviews will be conducted over the next three weeks.

The study report will be available in April and we will be happy to share it with you then. Thank you for considering this request and for any help that you can provide.
