Building a #SwachhBharat (Clean India)- brick by brick
The amount of passion a person has for a particular idea, art or a profession can be gauged by the manner in which he holds the thing which personifies his/her passion for the same. Two days before the 148th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, at Mehsana Railway Station I witnessed a man with such passion. He did something in a manner as spontaneously and swiftly that would make MS Dhoni behind the stumps proud.
On getting down from the Ajmer Intercity, I went to the nearby Water ATM Kiosk at the station. The person in front of me, after finishing his glass of water did not seem to be in a mood to find a place to properly dispose the glass. My cynical self became active and I started looking out for a dustbin, if it existed, around kiosk to put the glass he threw.
I witnessed a man with such passion... that would make MS Dhoni behind the stumps proud.
In a matter of seconds before I came back, not having found a dustbin around, I was surprised to not find the glass at the spot where it was thrown. Right opposite to the front of the store, a dustbin came up all of a sudden and beside it, stood this man.
"Mein dustbin hi dhund raha tha vo glass fenkne ke liye, (I was trying to find a dustbin to throw the glass)," I said.
"Kachra daalne aadmi jaata hai 2 minute utni der mein kachra ho jata hai kya kare bhai (I went to throw the collected garbage in the bin and within 2 minutes, there is already some new garbage, what to do?" pat came the reply.
"Chinta mat karo aap, hum yahan kachra hone nahi denge (Don't worry we won't let garbage be thrown here," he assured.

It felt as if a streak of passion reverberated throughout that platform at that time. This was a man who was passionate about his work, to keep this platform, this station, this nation clean.

For the countless millions of Indians who are cynical about the success of this dream of Mahatma Gandhi, there are thousands of unsung heroes like the one in this picture who are keeping the dream of #SwachhBharat alive. Like Nolan's #DarkKnight he is not only the hero India deserves but also the one our nation needs. Jay Hind. #SwachhtaHiSeva
