Building A Platform To Deliver More to Our Residents

In this month's edition, we delve into the heart of our mission at HVPG, exploring the transformative power of affordable housing preservation through our recent hometown Spring Valley project.

Spring Valley, a community located just 30 miles north of New York City, holds a special place in our hearts. It’s where my partner and I grew up and where our parents worked (public school educators). The diversity, both socioeconomically and ethnically, has shaped my values and they embody the culture of HVPG. Spring Valley is also located in the Hudson Valley - the namesake for our company, which aims to replicate the same pride and careful community approach as we continue to expand nationwide (HVPG currently operates in 7 states and plans to be in 13 states by next year).

Through our work, we have seen firsthand the remarkable impact of affordable housing preservation on communities like Spring Valley across the country.

Our latest endeavor in Spring Valley, encompassing Lakeview Village and Highview Apartments, goes beyond bricks and mortar. It embodies our unwavering commitment to enhancing lives and fortifying communities. (Some more details of our project can be found here:

Here are some key highlights:

·        Bridging the Digital Divide: We've brought the digital world closer to our residents by providing seamless Wi-Fi access. It's not just about connectivity; it's about opening doors to opportunities. Access to the internet can significantly improve educational outcomes and employment prospects for residents, increasing their overall well-being. Studies have shown that in communities with increased access to Wi-Fi, there is an improvement in students' academic performance and an increase in access to online job opportunities, contributing to economic mobility.

·        Nurturing Healthier Communities: Our partnership with local healthcare providers has enabled us to introduce telehealth services and preventative care directly accessible to our residents. This initiative isn't just about healthcare; it's about cultivating healthier, happier communities. Recent reports show that telehealth usage has surged in recent years, with a growing percentage of Americans utilizing telehealth services for healthcare consultations. Our work is making healthcare more accessible to our residents.

·        Fostering Community Connections: Our commitment extends beyond the walls of our properties. Collaborating with local organizations, we enrich lives by offering access to the arts, financial literacy programs, and job opportunities, thereby creating a vibrant, interconnected community. These initiatives lead to an increase in community engagement and satisfaction, with residents reporting a stronger sense of belonging and well-being.

At HVPG, our vision is for our improvements to go far beyond property rehabilitation. With each project, we meticulously craft preservation plans and environments that elevate living standards. Whether it's through fundamental amenities like Wi-Fi or comprehensive healthcare initiatives (or through addressing crime and security, as noted in my recent piece published in Commercial Observer), our plan is to uplift and empower communities on every level.

As we continue to grow and expand our company, we remain steadfast in our mission to create homes that are more than just living spaces – they are springboards to a brighter future.
