Building a Community: Lindsey Franklin’s Journey with Dexcom DAAN

In 2020, a year after Lindsey Franklin joined our Inside Sales team, she became a founding board member of Dexcom African Ancestry Network (DAAN) ERG. This engagement amplified the meaningful aspects of her work life.

The DAAN ERG is a resilient community that began amid the pandemic and has grown exponentially. "Most of us were working from home, and we built a community of colleagues across the organization. Since then, our membership has grown. By 2024, we had already reached 64 members and leaders in total.”

The ERG focuses on African Americans' unique challenges in the global professional community. As the current President of DAAN, Lindsey has emphasized support and connectivity. “We celebrate African American history through education, focus on professional development, recognize cultural differences, and strive to create an inclusive environment for all Dexcom employees.”

The group has several exciting initiatives planned for Black History Month, including a virtual guided National Civil Rights Museum tour and a guest speaker. "We have invited Rob Edwards, the writer of classic Black stories on TV and in films, such as In Living Color, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Princess and the Frog, to share his experiences and how he overcame challenges.”

As Dexcom evolves, Lindsey reemphasizes the importance of diverse perspectives in our workforce. “Diversity not only enriches our culture at Dexcom but also makes our work more inclusive and rewarding for everyone looking to join us.”

There are so many specifics, with dates and times, yet nothing about the previous president, and not one post in five years, perplexing! It's almost like you are trying to alibi for something. This was posted on the 28th, but it states you have so much planned for black history Month? Can you share a link to the To Rob Edwards and the virtual guided tour? Was it on Dexcom's website? I never saw it. Maybe one of the 64 members has it saved. We would love to see it, thanks 👍 😊 This is a very odd post

This is great. I'm certain you have so many posts about this organization's activities on your lovely website. Rob Edwards could not have been the only speaker you invited. Please share as much as you can; we want to hear more from all 64 members. Who was the previous president? Who is the vice chair? This is so exciting. You have the date in 2020, and you must have so much to share from 2020. It started during the pandemic when people were dying, so you decided to put a group together for black people. What a way to support black folks. It sounds so believable. Five years, 64 members, impressive! I, for one, am so proud! All those years, and this is the only post? Well, you have got to start somewhere, like 2020. wink wink 😉 😉 Thank you so much for sharing
