Bron Afon appoints its first senior independent director to the Board

We are pleased to announce that Jane Pound is appointed as our first Senior Independent Director on the Board. This is a new role for Bron Afon and recognises the value of having an independent voice to champion and promote effective relationships and open and constructive communications between Board colleagues, the Executive and with external stakeholders.   

Chair of Bron Afon’s Board, Craig Nowell said “Jane is a highly experienced board member who brings compassion, knowledge and experience in abundance to this role. She constructively supports and challenges, in a naturally empathetic way, and I am confident she will make a valuable contribution to the board as senior independent director.”

Jane Pound joined Bron Afon’s Board in 2021 and will continue to Chair the People and Governance Committee. She has extensive experience in the public sector, specialising in HR Risk and Governance.

We believe including the role of senior independent director on to our Board will bring added value to conversations and decision making. Jane’s appointment reflects our desire to ensure the quality of our governance is high while actively supporting and promoting good decision making in line with our values.
