Azure Local

Just when you thought that Microsoft was going 100% cloud, they release Azure Local.

But this time it actually sounds like a great approach.

Azure local is an extension to the existing Azure Arc, however unlike ARC which resides at the OS level this will be Hypervisor level.

Allowing you a single pane of glass to manage both cloud and on-prem, all while providing a Single API and GUI to manage both environments.

Azure local will allow the running of VM's, Azure Kubernetes and certain PaaS services such as App Services, Data & AI and even AVD.

Now allowing you to run Microsoft's VDI solution on-prem.

It even has support for migrating you're existing VM's off of VMware.

The use cases for this are pretty endless.

Now we just need to see how the pricing is going to work.
