AWS Services

AWS has being a frontrunner in the cloud service provider list, offers a multiple services that facilitates many customers as per their demand. AWS delivers more then 200+ services across the globe.

We can learn a few of them and their feature as below.

  • EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) - AWS offers virtual servers to manage any kind of workloads, it facilitates the computing infrastructure with base variant to high end with best Processors, Networking and storage systems. The compute services are highly secured, reliable, scalable and very user friendly.
  • VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) - As the name tells, it is the isolated cloud resource, it controls virtual network with resource placement, connection, and security. This are achieved by using inbound/outbound rules, applying CIDR.
  • EBS(Volumes) - Elastic block storage, it supports scaling for highly performance workloads, also provides 99.999% better protection against failures. We can resize the cluster as the demand increased and also can build storage volumes, optimize storage performance with low cost.
  • EFS - (Elastic File system) - It's the File system for the EC2, its serverless file system where we can create and configure file system without provisioning, deploying, patching and maintenance using AMAZON EFS. Here file can be added and removed as wanted.
  • S3 (Storage) - AWS offers the storage service with the name called S3, which is an object storage service, it has the feature of storing the data in encrypted format by default. Customers use this service since the cost is less and the security added to it, the users can access any quantity of data from anywhere.
  • IAM (Identity and Access Management) - IAM uses this mechanism of assigning the roles, group and policies to users who are trying to access the resources. It provides secure access and management of resources in a secure and compliant manner. It avoids the unwanted access of the users who are not intended to perform the task. There are no additional costs, users only get charged for the use of other services by their users.
  • CloudWatch (Monitoring) - Amazon CloudWatch is a monitoring based service that tracks the applications, notes any changes to performance of the resources, continuous tracking of the health. It shows the complete insights about the resources health, performance and gives option for users to set alarms in case any abnormality seen.
