April 14 – I will watch – Psalm 39:7
After reading this psalm you know that writer made certain decisions. First, they were going to watch their speech. They wanted to know how to say things, in the right manner, at the right time. for the right reason. They also wanted to walk with wisdom because life at times almost feels like a minefield where at any time things could explode with dire consequences.
The Psalmist then says, “Lord what do I look for?” I know my answer is coming from you. My hope is in you but what should I be looking for? This could be any one’s cry. We have prayed, sought God’s face, read His word but what will the answer look like and how can we recognize it when it comes? Good questions. That is where the Spirit of God comes in. Jesus promised us that the Holy Spirit would guide us into all truth. What He will do is take what He hears and pass it unto us. So today rely on the Holy Spirit to speak to you and be willing to take time to listen.
