If any Fresher says .. "I am Trained But not yet Placed" .. Here are the Possible reasons..

One of the main reason why many students are not getting placed even after 3-4 months of self training / institute training is "Students generally get train as per University Syllabus even after academics more of theory based but not as per the Industry which requires more of practical learning"

Here is an attempt to identify such gaps between what a Student prepare and what Industry expects.

Any IT Company, expects the trained fresher to be good with

  • What is IT Industry about?
  • Good Aptitude and Problem Solving Skills
  • Programming Skills
  • One Programming Language
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Command on their Academic Project or a real time project

IT Industry

Most of the students don’t even do research on IT industry. “Choosing a 4 year Branch in B.Tech can be a chance but not the 40 yrs.’ Career. Career must be a Choice not by Chance”.

Its mandate for the Student to know these things before his/her Job Search

● The IT Industry, Different Technologies, Designations and Roles in the IT Industry

● Technologies to learn as a Fresher (Not all technologies are considered for the Fresher level jobs in the IT industry)

● Career growth options for each and every role in the IT industry for a fresher

● Career growth options in MNC, Product Based Companies & Start-ups

This knowledge helps the student the take a wise choice in choosing a right career as a Fresher.

Aptitude

Most of the students prepare more with shortcuts. Aptitude is the most important thing for any IT Industry as logic is basic requirement for any program. If a student knows the logic, it’s very easy to convert that logic into a program.

Somehow Students focus more on Java while preparing for IT interviews and do less practice on aptitude. Unless you clear written test, you will not get a chance to show your programming skills. We recommend students to give equal importance to Apti and programming and practice well.

Programming Skills

Most of the B.Tech fresher’s Mug up the programs at college time. But the Industry expectations are different.

● They expect the Student to write the given program in multiple ways.

● They expect the student to explain, debug & trace the program line by line in detail on a paper or system.

● Student must know the Time complexity and Space complexity of the given program and should be able to optimise the code also.

● Now a day’s most of the companies are asking students to take the Coding challenges online with more test cases.

Java &SQL

Most of the students read Java theory for the Job interviews. Theory will help them only in College level exams but not in the interviews.

Here are the Industry expectations.

 ● They expect the student to be really good with all the Concepts with real time examples not the bookish examples.

● All the OOPS concepts, Multithreading, Exception handling, Collections and with real time programming examples.

● Few Product based companies expects students to be good with Data Structures and Algorithms also.

● SQL especially Joins

● Advance Java concepts (JDBC, Servlets & JSP)

  Real Time Project

Project plays a very important role in the interview process but most of the students buy readymade projects or play a very passive role in the Project which makes them no clue about their academic project.

If someone is from Non-IT, its better to do a real time project which helps a lot. with a real time project they may present themselves in the IT interview as they are here as a choice into IT industry not by chance.

 Communication

Most of the Students (especially rural students and few urban students) fail to crack the IT interviews because of their communication.  IT industry expects students to be really good with Written and verbal communication as in day to day life as an IT employee He/She has to communicate through emails/chat/calls/conferences with internal and external stakeholders.

We at CVCORP, have designed the 3 month training program considering all these Industry expectations. To know more about us, you may go through our Google Reviews and Facebook page which captures all our success stories.
