“Dear Shareholders:
2024 was a strong year for Amazon.
Our total revenue grew 11% year-over-year (“YoY”) from $575B to $638B. By segment, North America revenue increased 10% YoY from $353B to $387B, International revenue grew 9% YoY from $131B to $143B, and AWS revenue increased 19% YoY, from $91B to $108B. For perspective, just 10 years ago, AWS revenue was $4.6B; and in that same year, Amazon’s total revenue was $89B.”

Amazon’s new Nova Sonic foundation model understands not just what you say—but how you say it
Amazon's new Nova Sonic generative AI model can understand more than just what you say. It can also pick up on tone, inflection, and pacing, which enables developers to build AI applications that are more natural and conversational.
Available exclusively in Amazon Bedrock, Nova Sonic simplifies the development of voice-enabled applications, such as customer service call automation and AI agents across a range of industries like travel, entertainment, healthcare, education, and more.
Instead of using multiple models, Nova Sonic unifies voice understanding and generation capabilities into a single model. This approach enables the model to adapt the generated voice response to not just the words, but also the tone and style of the spoken input, resulting in more natural dialogue.
