AI is reshaping healthcare by improving diagnostics and treatment efficiency and managing vast medical data at unprecedented speeds. • Radiology and medical imaging — AI-based computer vision analyzes medical scans (X-rays, MRIs, CT scans) and detects diseases such as lung conditions, fractures, tumors, and cancer earlier and more precisely than humans alone.  

• Clinical decision support—AI-powered CDSS acts as a smart assistant for doctors by analyzing patient data to provide fast diagnoses and recommend treatments based on past successful cases and the latest medical research. 

Emerging innovations: 

• Personalized medicine — AI-driven treatments can be tailored to individual patients based on their genetic data, lifestyle, and real-time health metrics. Personalization using AI can help make treatments more precise, customized, and proactive rather than reactive. 

• Edge AI in healthcare — AI models run on local devices such as smartphones, wearable devices, and medical equipment (rather than on cloud servers) for real-time patient analysis and faster response times. 

• Regulation and trust — It is critical that AI models are transparent, reliable, and ethically integrated into medical workflows. If AI suggests a diagnosis, doctors need to trust it and explain it to patients. Meanwhile, regulations ensure AI tools are accurate and tested before they are approved.
