INSIGHT PIECE OF THE MONTH 📚
Preserving and promoting biodiversity in buildings
Urban sprawl and agriculture are driving biodiversity loss, but cities can also become refuges for wildlife. Older buildings often provide nesting spaces for birds and bats, yet renovations can block these habitats. New constructions are designed to prevent species access, but it’s possible to integrate biodiversity into designs without compromising comfort.
Simple design tweaks, like adding nesting spaces for birds such as sparrows and swifts, can support wildlife without attracting pests. These changes are cost-effective and blend seamlessly with the building’s aesthetics.
Learn more about how we can preserve and promote biodiversity in urban spaces in the latest article by Matthieu Suc, Landboost by Egis Development Manager.
