7 popular reasons why you cannot connect or communicate other machines
After having many difficulties with this issue , here is my take:
1) The internal firewall of one of the machines blocks any inbound connections
2) The machines are not in the same network and there is no routing between the networks
3) A FW might intercept the communication due to security rules
4) Maybe one of the machines is turned off
5) A DNS problem , maybe one machine cannot find another machine due to a change of the DNS name. Try NSlookup to see if you get any results or even better, if you have access to the domain controllers then access them and look at the DNS records.
6) Maybe one of the machine is not connected to any network or a specific system service is not working. For example connecting to a Linux machine via SSH , the machines can ping each other but the SSH service is not running
7) Everything is set up correctly but your user is unauthorized to do certain actionsIf you like the content then follow the page and subscribe.
