To 2024 and Beyond

To 2024 and Beyond

As 2023 ends and we embark into 2024, we want to say thank you to each of our providers, clients, supporters and followers.   The Healthcare industry continues to navigate through choppy waters as the COVID virus lingers and many providers look for answers on how to provide better care without being bogged down with more protocols and policies.   The stress level for many individuals is high and provider burnout continues to be an issue at the forefront of many organizations.

In 2024, there are a few things we can practice to help move healthcare forward:

1)      Be patient and kind.     In a world that wants to move faster and faster, some individuals will feel left behind and it is important to show patience and kindness in every connection.

2)      Take 7 seconds.   When we are facing a new challenge or seeking a reply, wait 7 seconds to give the people whom you are asking for help to process the request and formulate a response.

3)      Clarify.    Everyone is familiar with assumptions.   Assumptions result from a lack of information or clarity of the information.   Again, in a fast-paced world, it is easy to skip the details and assume the information is clearly conveyed.

4)      Active Listening.   When receiving new information, practice paraphrasing your understanding of what the information is.   For example, if I understand correctly, you are asking me to….

5)      Acknowledge the achievements.   Not every achievement is requiring fireworks, however, gaining a new certification or knowledge should be celebrated.   Encourage others to continue to learn.

6)      Humor.   Laughing with others and sharing amusing jokes or stories helps to lighten the workplace.

7)      Perspective.   Unlike perception which represents our own view, take a moment to view situations from all points of view to gain perspective.

8)      Take time to recharge the batteries.   Whether it is a long weekend or a vacation away.   Taking time out of a highly charged work environment can help restore your ability to handle stressful situations.

9)      Remember the reasons you do what you do.   The highest motivation comes from within.   Your reasons for what drives you to achieve, to help, to support, to make a difference are a big part of what defines your character and how you are perceived by others.

10)   Everything is temporary.   No matter what you may face today, one hundred years from now, no one will remember it.  What may be remembered is how you treated others, how you contributed to improvement and how you made a difference in someone else’s life.

We wish you all the best in 2024 and whether you are seeking a change in healthcare career or you are seeking a talented team of individuals to join your team, we stand ready to be there for you today, tomorrow and throughout the year ahead.
