Integrity, one of the self-starters’ keys to succeed at their first job

Integrity is the key for every self-starter to succeed in a company.

1- It all starts with your commitment to the goals set. If you simply meet your goals, then you are just like any other employee. You are doing okay but somehow still replaceable, whereas a company wants over-achievers who morally support the company’s objectives - Don’t firefight for attaining your objectives and pass the performance review, but instead achieve your commitments to deliver excellent results in the favor of the company you are working for.

2- “Honestly” is commonly used in the business oral communications. However, I figured out that it can seriously tarnish our credibility. This word raises a red flag and makes our listeners question whether or not we are saying the truth. State the real facts in your messages and accurate reasons in your apologies - There is no need to use “Honestly” or act as “I am honest”, because authenticity is what we firstly need to convey the company’s message.

3- We don’t always have to be the best in order to win. Some people have had more luck than others; however opportunities are most of the times in front of us to be strongly grabbed and consistently developed. The company is chasing innovators and processors whose aim is to make a difference in the company -Never stop learning, you may be valuable now but what is needed is your value to potentially achieve more, innovate & improve.

4- When you have a meeting, definitely don’t show up after 5 minutes or even on time. Be there 15 minutes earlier, mingle and interact with the higher ups of the company. Show the people around that you respect time, their time to say the necessary concisely, to introduce yourself, to act appropriately and courteously while considering all cultural differences and distinctions -Respecting time shows your complete harmony towards the company, and time is the new money.

5- Don’t leave someone hanging or something pending on promise based because it is rude and unprofessional. Speak at first, loud enough, something meaningful and don’t make big/new decisions at the end of the day. This way you are showing a distinguished character, potential strength and great ability. You personalize your company by showing quality and trust.

Simple and nice
