On Wednesday, March 19, YLWD hosted Councilwoman Tara Campbell’s Young Civic Leaders Academy! Local high school and middle school students were joined by Councilwoman Campbell and Mayor Janice Lim, who enjoyed a presentation and guided tour of our PFAS Water Treatment Plant. Students learned about the source of our water, the treatment process, and how water is distributed throughout our service area. Students also got to meet a few of our YLWD #WaterPros from various departments including Customer Service☎️, Engineering/GIS💻, Production🧪, and Public Affairs🙋🏻♀️. Staff members shared their career journeys, their passion for water, and what they cherish most about serving the public, plus some helpful career tips!👏 These #YoungCivicLeaders left feeling motivated and excited about the rewarding career opportunities available in the water industry.
