The issue of low-quality in-kind donations is a well-known problem in both charity work and disaster response operations. Arizona State University’s Mahyar Eftekhar, an associate professor of supply chain management at the W. P. The Legacy Foundation of Kentuckiana (LFK) recently announced the approval of 19 grants totaling $2 million to support charitable programs that foster healthier communities for residents in the Louisville area, focused particularly on the needs of vulnerable populations. These funds will support organizations across Jefferson, Shelby, Bullitt, Nelson, and Hardin counties in Kentucky and Clark County in Indiana.
