Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation’s Post

The Wisconsin delegation had the opportunity to visit the Merck Group's global headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Merck is a leading science and technology company that is divided into three business categories: health care, life sciences, and electronics. We started the tour by visiting the learning center where apprentices work in labs. Governor Tony Evers, WEDC Secretary Missy Hughes, and the rest of the group also had the opportunity to walk around the company's innovation center and hear about the company's history that dates back to the 17th century and the company's move to the U.S. and Wisconsin. Merck is the parent company of MilliporeSigma, which operates several locations throughout Wisconsin including Sheboygan, Madison, Verona, and Milwaukee. Merck Group has about 1,600 employees in the state, with a majority in Sheboygan. We are thrilled to see this company continue to grow in Wisconsin and across the globe.
