💧From sewage spills to water shortages, decades of government and regulatory failure have allowed water companies to neglect vital investment in water supply and sewage capacity. The Independent Water Commission will make recommendations to the UK and Welsh Governments to “strengthen the water sector and its regulatory framework” - we want to make sure it puts nature and wild fish first. To do this, our focus will be on how the water sector plans for new developments. Right now, there is no mechanism to ensure new developments have the water and sewage capacity they require and the environment pays the price - this process must change.
