CV Tips for any Technical / Food Safety candidates currently on the market 💡 As a recruiter who works exclusively within the food & beverage manufacturing industry, I spend every day reviewing CVs from QA's, Technical Assistants, Spec Techs, QA/Technical Managers, and everyone in between. Frustratingly one of the most common & simple things I see missing from CVs are the specific details that really show your value to the hiring manager. If you're working in a food safety or technical role, here are 4 simple details you should ALWAYS include: ✅ Standards & audit exposure – Include the BRC grade of the site, any customer audits you’ve been involved with, and the most recent results if you know them. This simply shows the standard you’re used to working to and gives an insight to the environment you're coming from. ✅ Product category clarity – Make sure it’s clear what the site manufactures. Is it ready meals? Bakery? Cooked meats? Chilled desserts? The more specific, the better. It helps employers understand your product knowledge instantly. ✅ Retailer spec portals – Don't just say "spec writing" or "specs for major retailers." List exactly which portals you’ve used – e.g., Tesco TPPS, M&S FIND, Sainsbury's Aspect, etc. Hiring managers want to know you can hit the ground running and where you might need support / development on. REMEMBER - gaps are good!! ✅ Key achievements in each role Don’t just list responsibilities. Highlight achievements – for example: • Led a successful BRC audit with AA grade • Trained and mentored two junior team members, improving team capability and progressing one to promotion • Reduced spec approval turnaround by 40% • Introduced new QMS documentation system • Supported launch of 15+ new SKUs for major retailer These simple additions WILL make a huge difference – and often, they’re the things that help your CV stand out to hiring managers and get you that interview. They also make you stand out to the recruiters that are trying to help you 😉 If you're not sure if your CV is showing your full potential, feel free to reach out – happy to offer further pointers! 📩 jamie@whiteandclayton.com // White & Clayton Recruitment

The category point is so useful and shows a deeper understanding of the industry - and relates to standard knowledge again. 👏
