Growing our economy and creating high-quality jobs is a top priority. This December, Wales will host its first-ever International Investment Summit at Celtic Manor. A fantastic opportunity to showcase our strengths to the world and attract more investment and jobs.

This is a great initiative, bravo! 🙌

Hmmm… green energy? So the money can go to the crown estate and line the pockets of Westminster and the King. Labour needs to do more than use Conservative talking points and actually listen to the people of Wales and reform the broken system.

GlobalWelsh 'Brain Drain to Brain Gain' research identified nearly 500 Welsh-led businesses globally among respondents, with 25% of diaspora entrepreneurs ready to invest in Wales within 12 months. Through the research we have uncovered a powerful network of global Welsh talent, particularly in high-growth sectors like technology, renewables, and advanced manufacturing, who are actively seeking to reinvest in Wales. Diaspora from the Cardiff Capital Region, which includes Newport, showed particular strength in technology and financial services. Notably, the research revealed that Welsh diaspora entrepreneurs are operating at senior levels in Silicon Valley, European tech hubs, and Asian financial centres. Will the Investment Summit allow them to get involved? If not, why not? Hopefully we've learnt the lessons of the past that large corporates, while making a great headline, can often leave as quickly as they arrive.
