The Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) has launched project GENIUS to tackle grid congestion. This initiative, involving academia, industry, and government, aims to develop a smart energy concept on the TU/e campus. The project began with the commissioning of a large battery pack on November 18, 2024. The GENIUS battery pack will optimize energy storage and distribution, preventing energy peaks and ensuring a stable supply. This project not only addresses grid congestion but also sets a precedent for future sustainable innovations. The collaboration among various stakeholders highlights the power of collective effort in advancing technological and environmental progress, examplary for the Brainport region.
