Best wishes to all visiting the same. Still thought of sharing these pointers as this is one of the largest and setting clear expectations will give you better output. 1. #Research and Plan Ahead - Make a list of the #exhibitors you want to visit and the products or technologies you're interested in learning more about. Check the exhibition's website for a floor plan, conference schedule, and any pre-registered sessions. 2.Set Clear #Objectives*: Define what you hope to achieve from the visit, such as learning about new technologies, finding suppliers, or networking with industry professionals. This will help you stay focused and make the most of your time. 3. Prepare Questions and Materials.- Prepare a list of questions to ask, such as product features, pricing, and regulatory compliance.

Reflecting on a Valuable Experience: Symposium on Financing Primary Health Care in Low- and Middle-Income Countries Today, I had the privilege of attending the symposium organized by the Danish Society for Tropical Medicine and International Health, the University of Copenhagen’s Global Health Section and the School of Global Health, where key experts shared valuable insights into financing primary health care (#PHC), particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Here are three key takeaways from Joe Kutzin, a leading international health economist dedicated to advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC): 1. The core of #UHC is “how to get services to the people who can’t get the services.” 2. "Are German citizens more insured than British (or Danish) citizens, just because they call their system #insurance?" Particularly in low-income countries and contexts of high #informality, healthcare financing for UHC has to be thought about in terms of functions and policies (such as #revenueraising, #pooling, #purchasing, #benefits, and #rationing) rather than classifications or models such as National Health System (NHS), Social Health Insurance System (SHIS), Community-Based Health Insurance (CBHI), etc. 3. “Concepts and evidence tell us that Universal Health Coverage does not mean Universal Health Insurance” because insurance contributions are not driving coverage expansion. So, what can work for coverage expansion in this context? "Non-contributory entitlement supported by #generalbudget revenues." For more info, see two slides of Kutzin's presentation, shared in the comment. #GlobalHealth #PrimaryHealthCare #HealthcareFinancing #PublicHealth #LearningAndSharing
We are excited to introduce the presenters for our upcoming symposium on 10 September! 🗣️ Read below for each speaker's presentation topic. ⤵️ 1️⃣ Abebe Alebachew Asfaw: Overview of The Lancet Global Health Commission’s report on financing primary health care 2️⃣ Suneth Agampodi: Current challenges faced by Sri Lanka in maintaining a long-time emphasis on primary health care 3️⃣ Sabine Margarete Damerow: Challenges faced in low-income settings: The case of maternal and child healthcare in Guinea-Bissau 4️⃣ Joe Kutzin: Financing Universal Health Care in Low- and Middle-Income Countries The event is organised together with Danish Society for Tropical Medicine and International Health. 🌟 Collaboration in Action: Joining Forces for a Healthier Europe 🌟 As we move into 2025, the coordination teams from JA PreventNCD and JACARDI continue to strengthen their collaboration, amplifying their shared commitment to improving public health across Europe. Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including cardiovascular diseases, remain the leading causes of death and disability in Europe. Addressing these challenges requires strong partnerships and coordinated efforts across sectors and borders. 💪 🤝 The synergy between our two projects ensures a more comprehensive and integrated approach to prevention, management, and policymaking. By working together, we align strategies, share knowledge, and drive progress to promote well-being across the continent. As we look forward to 2025, we want to take a moment to thank the JACARDI team for their dedicated administrative efforts in 2024, which have been instrumental in supporting and advancing our shared goals. In 2025 and beyond, we remain committed to building on these efforts, driving impactful change, and working toward a healthier, more resilient Europe. 🌍❤️ Follow our journey to see how we are reducing the burden of NCDs and cardiovascular diseases throughout Europe. #JAPreventNCD #JACARDI #Collaboration #StrongerTogether #PublicHealth #EU4Health #HaDEA
