As many students will start summer internships tomorrow, I want to share three tips for the first week to help ensure a successful summer. 1. Solidify goals & deliverables - clarify what success looks like for your role and what are the end of summer deliverables. 2. Develop communication and feedback plan - ask your manager how best to communicate updates and how often, align on timing of formal and informal feedback. 3. Meet the team & learn the organization - know who to go to for what, both on and outside of your team, understand firm culture norms and take time to understand how your role and team fit into the broader organization.
