✈️ Chinese air traffic has exceeded 2019 levels In 2024, civil aviation in China continued to grow in terms of both passenger and freight traffic. The latest figures show that the sector has not only regained its pre-pandemic dynamism, but has even surpassed it. ➡ With 9.42 million tonnes transported in 2024, Chinese air freight has now surpassed the level of 2019. ➡ Record passenger traffic More than 700 million air trips were recorded in 2024, an increase of 18% over the previous year. This growth is largely driven by domestic flights (640 million passengers), but international traffic is also showing a strong recovery with 60 million passengers. ➡ Aviation activity is booming The sector maintained a stable momentum with 5.39 million flights carried out over the year (+9.5% compared to 2023) and 13.81 million flight hours recorded (+13.1%).
