JACKHAMMER AND USES IN CONSTRUCTION. Firstly, a Jackhammer can be defined as a pneumatic or electromechanical tool that combines a hammer directly with a chisel. This tool is used to break up concrete, brick, asphalt and other hard surfaces because of the kind of force it provides. Extra care is required for the safe operation. If the jackhammer is to be used for periods greater than 15minutes, workers should rotate the tasks to minimize the chances of injury. Another name for the Jackhammer in United Kingdom is Pneumatic Drill or Demolition hammer; and the tool was invented by William McReavy, who then sold the patent to Charles Brady King. The jackhammer is quite different from the hammer drill in the sense that it efficiently breaks up pavements on a considerable scale, and generally has more hitting force than a demolition hammer. What prompted me to do this write up is the efficiency at which the tool breaks up concrete, asphalt and hard stones in the site where I am currently working. Thank you and stay tuned for more construction plants and equipment. Hmm... Nice... I need to know though, is that 15 minutes safety rule applied? Especially in Nigeria?

Great overview of the jackhammer's role in construction! It's fascinating how this tool, originally invented by William McReavy and further developed by Charles Brady King, has evolved to efficiently break up tough surfaces like concrete and asphalt. Safety is paramount, as you mentioned, especially with prolonged use. Do you think advancements in jackhammer technology will continue to improve safety and efficiency on construction sites?

From the write up, one can conclude that the jackhammer is more efficient than the hammer drill when breaking up concrete, asphalt or hard stone. I am sure the jackhammer will be more costly than the drill hammer. I will like for you to tell you the cost comparative advantages of the jackhammer to similar tools that handle the same responsibility.
