Does marketing work on marketers??! Apparently… yes 😭💸 I’ve always loved VIEVE - the branding, aesthetics and the product quality. A dreamy combo. But yesterday for April fools day? I was WELL and truly marketed to. And it worked. Flawlessly. They "leaked" an email saying there were 40 free Dusk Face Palettes (a sold-out fave) available for the first 40 customers. Was it obviously an April fools thing? Yes But was it obvious that the deal was very real? YES Of course I grabbed one for free 🫠 And of course… I also restocked all my other favourite bits while I was there 🙃 The whole thing felt exclusive, time-sensitive, perfectly branded - and got me right in the soft spot between loyalty and urgency. Was it a marketing tactic? Absolutely. Did I fall for it? Immediately. Do I regret it? Not even slightly. Marketing doesn’t stop working just because you know how it works! In fact, when it’s clever, on-brand and makes the customer feel part of something? It makes me love that this is what I do even more! Marketing shouldn't leave you feeling tricked!!! Jamie Genevieve, you got me. And honestly, I respect it x Who else has been expertly marketed to recently?! 👀👇🏼 #Marketing #ConsumerBehaviour #Brand #Vieve
Thanks, Sophie! We are ✨so✨glad you loved our April Fool’s joke (that was, as you know, absolutely NOT a joke) AND snagged a free Dimension Face Palette in Dusk. Also, tell us, what else did you treat yourself to 👀?
I also saw this and was so happy that it was real!
Definitely works. We're just more aware that it's happening (even if we still buy!)
The blend of exclusivity, urgency, and brand loyalty is a powerful trifecta. It highlights the importance of understanding your audience deeply and creating experiences that resonate on an emotional level. This approach not only drives immediate sales but also strengthens long-term brand affinity.💛💚 Sophie Evans
