Delighted to announce Pembroke VCT’s investment into Ryft, a next-generation payments platform purpose-built for online marketplaces. At Pembroke we back people and the first meeting with Sadra was memorable, it took us over half an hour to even start talking about the incredible business he’s building - and it remains one of my favourite first meetings to date. When we did get into the details we got excited for a few key reasons: 1. Founders with grit and vision Co-founders Sadra, Alex and Richard previously built and exited Butlr and alongside recent hires across finance and demand generation, they’ve formed a leadership team blending entrepreneurial edge with operational rigour. Backed by advisors from Wise, Revolut, and Tide, the Ryft team has real fintech pedigree. 2. Momentum & efficiency Ryft has scaled GMV by over 200% YoY and is adding new customers (with now over 1,500 merchants) and partnerships with leading payments businesses including Clearhaus and Worldpay at an impressive pace. 3. Massive market, smart positioning With a European serviceable market of £73bn and a global TAM of £360bn, Ryft is going after incumbents with better pricing, slicker onboarding, and a revenue-sharing model that turns payments from a cost centre into a growth driver. We’re thrilled to be joining Sadra, Alex, and the team on this journey, alongside an outstanding group of co-investors and fintech operators; SFC Capital, Victorum Capital, Velocity Capital, EdenBase, The SidebySide Partnership and Mark.
