It's no secret that recruiting can be a grind - 100%. But at Coastal Recruiting we work smarter, so a lot of that weight is off the individuals and instead on the systems we've built (which can handle it!). Allowing us to serve at our highest impact. This leads to more levity, more energy and more creativity in our day to day. And as we've seen - more RESULTS for our founders 💞 . Yes, please! When you pick an agency to partner with - it's not a SaaS product - it's a team of humans. Trust me - you're going to want to pick the humans who aren't burnt out and pushing a boulder up a hill everyday. Go with the team who's using a fulcrum.
I couldn’t be more grateful for our team. Every day, they push me to think about ways we can work smarter, not harder. And every day - I remind them I’m new to recruiting and need all the directional feedback I can get ;) We’ve somehow assembled the hardest working recruiters in the game (if you think you have a strong work ethic, come work with us for a week and you’ll see what I mean…) We’re building unique systems and processes to allow us to scale in a very unconventional way (I might be wrong… but hey, at least we’re trying!) but we don’t earn the right to do this without our team. Their willingness to lean in, test the crazy ideas we toss out there, and always keep the pedal to the metal is damn special. The most rewarding part? Seeing the ‘test’ initiatives we put in production start to work.. in a meaningful way 😎

#peer recognition Can we talk about appreciating employees for their dedication and hard work. Today marks exactly three months since I joined Solutech. Securing a job offer from them on January 15, 2024, was truly a dream come true for me. The company not only articulates its vision, mission, and culture but also lives by them. This fosters a profound sense of belonging and direction. On this Labor Day, I received an incredible email that truly warmed my heart. Our COO, who also happens to be my direct supervisor, expressed his appreciation in a way that energized me to strive for even greater achievements. Such gestures reaffirm that our efforts are noticed and valued, fueling our determination to excel further. Sometimes as employees, we may feel unnoticed, but it's crucial to keep pushing and giving our best, trusting that our efforts will be recognized eventually. For job seekers, it's essential to pray not only for a good job but also for a supportive boss. This significantly contributes to creating a positive work environment." Lesson: Remember, persist in doing your best, for even when it seems no one is observing, divine recognition awaits.

👋 Meet the person behind the recruiter title. This is my family and me—and soon, this family will be blended as one! I’m marrying my best friend this February, and I couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter. ❤️ I’ve always believed that a career isn’t just about a paycheck—it’s about possibilities. Happy Thankful Thursday! Let's take a quick, humorous break from our recruiter duties to share a smile and express our gratitude—sprinkled with a bit of laughter: To Our Candidates: Thanks for keeping the job interesting, from mistaking remote work for tropical escapades to Zoom mix-ups that felt more like a surprise party. To Hiring Managers: Your seemingly impossible requests (a bilingual unicorn with future tech skills and medieval hobbies?) keep us aspiring to be recruiting magicians. To Fellow Recruiters: For every meme that got us through the "urgent" roles and shared snafus, your humor is the secret sauce to our resilience. To Our Coffee Machines: For the endless fuel you provide, ensuring we're always ready to tackle the next "open to opportunities but not looking" conversation. In the whirlwind of recruitment, it's the laughs, the unique challenges, and the community that make every day worthwhile. Here's to enjoying the ride, fueled by caffeine and camaraderie. Happy Thankful Thursday! Here’s to more victories, vibrant candidates, and, most importantly, endless cups of coffee. ☕🌟

I spoke to a brilliant HLTA the other day. We spent 20+ mins on an initial call so I could understand what she was coming to us for, discuss the checks we’d need to complete and talk about how we could support her. In return, she uploaded all her documents and completed the online enrolment form that same day. We had the registration interview, and as expected, she came across really well. She was one of those candidates where you’re genuinely excited to speak to schools about her – If you’re in recruitment, you’ll know exactly what I mean. Anyway, we were waiting on a final reference to clear her for work, when I received an email saying that she’d secured a role and would no longer be registering. It’s gutting when that happens. A lot of time goes into each registration, and it felt like a bit of a missed opportunity to work with someone so good, but naturally, I congratulated her on securing the position and I have no doubts she’ll do really well in her new role. I’ve always had the belief that my job is to help people find work. Of course, I’d prefer it’s through me, but if someone finds the role they were looking for elsewhere, then I’m genuinely happy for them. She replied to my message with the email below and I must admit, it put a skip in my step. At Sprint we’re not an agency that’s just looking to tick a box. We want to make a positive and real difference. The recruitment industry can be so target-driven that it’s easy to forget we’re dealing with people and their livelihoods. To get a message from someone saying how positive their experience was with us, even though, we didn’t get the opportunity to find them work shows we’re on to something. I don’t feel like I did anything I wouldn’t do in any other registration to get this kind of feedback, I think it just comes down to being human, having a genuine interest in people, and caring about the work we do. It goes a long way.

🏔️ We're gearing up for half term next week and although our house is already in chaos the family are excited for an overdue break! 🚵♀️ 🤔 After a busy summer the market has been quieter than we expected for September, but we anticipate that will all change after The Budget next week. While we all wait to see what unfolds in next week's announcements, we're aware that a number of our clients are building up for some new hires later this year. 🎵 📈 If anyone else wants to discuss their hiring plans for the last quarter of 2024 and potential upcoming vacancies, or, if you're interested to keep your ear to the ground about any forthcoming opportunities, please book some time in my diary for when I get back in November. There are two things I can fully commit to when speaking to anyone in my network: 1) all conversations are confidential and 2) I'm always interested! If you follow this link, you can book some time to speak with me... I would love nothing more than a full diary for when I get back! 📞 Book a time to speak with me here: https://bit.ly/3Ye8ruS

Wow, 6 years at Bright Network! Where does the time go? 🎉 In that time, so much has changed, and I’m grateful for every moment. Here’s a quick trip down memory lane: - Bright Network went from being the underdog to becoming the UK's most used early career platform (Times Top 100)! - Lost all my hair (totally worth it, though). - Held 4 different roles, all within the exciting world of new business sales. - Had the privilege of working with 3 incredible managers who’ve shaped my journey. - Onboarded over 200 new employers, from enterprise giants to innovative mid-market companies. - Moved offices from Regent Street to Liverpool Street. - Worked from over 70 coffee shops across 15 countries (new environments sooth my ADHD). - Watched our membership grow from 150,000 to 1.3 million bright minds! - Seen the team quadruple in size—and we’re still growing (seriously, check out our live roles)! - Stopped telling people I was an introvert and embraced my authenticity—life got so much better after that. -Met some of the most incredible people - colleagues, clients, members, speakers! Time really does fly when you’re having fun. It’s rare to find purpose-driven work in the corporate world, let alone in a company culture that values results, realness, and rest in equal measure... maybe results a little bit more. In light of recent events, I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be: fighting for a fairer and more equal society for the next generation. They deserve nothing less. 💪 Here’s to the next chapter! Kirsten Barnes James Uffindell thanks for the opportunity of a lifetime

BEN (POTENTIAL CLIENT): “Mike, we’re in aggressive growth mode. We are crushing sales and have more demand for our product than ever before!” ME: “Music to my money-making ears, Ben! Sounds like I have a chance to turn those PDFs from resumes into invoices!" BEN: “Oh, no doubt! We need 4 hires immediately, and then probably another 4 in Q2, and then from there, who knows where it could go?” ME: “I'm here for it! Y'all profitable?” BEN: “Yep!” ME: “Great, let’s do this! But Ben, I’m confused, you’ve got three other agencies on this, and everything sounds like a gold mine. So, why you talking to me?” BEN: “Well, they haven’t made any placements…” ME (starting to realize this might be too good to be true): “Hmmmm, how come? Is it fee related? What am I missing here?" BEN: “It might be, I mean they’re all at 15%. Oh, and I should mention, we want everyone in office 6 days a week.” ME: 😶 BEN (no longer a potential client): “You there, Mike?” ME (in my head): “Not for long.” ME (what I actually said): “My fee is 30% for 5 days in office, and 60% for 6 days in office.” BEN: “That’s never gonna happen.” ME: “Agreed on both. I’m never working at 15%, and I am never finding a candidate willing to do that.” 💯 YES, this really happened. This past Friday. Never seen/heard anything like it. If it walks like a duck. Talks like a duck. It must be a… #DiscoveryQuestions #WHOA #NeverADullMoment #OneDayOffAWeek #CantMakeIt #IHaveToWork #ButItsSaturday #IKnow

Why are we building the "I AM A RECRUITER" community? 🤔 It's a question we get a lot. The answer is simple: passion. ❤️ We're a group of seasoned TA professionals who genuinely love people and our industry. We've seen it all over the past decade, and we're committed to helping and upskilling our fellow recruiters. 🤝 Will we make money from this? 💸 Honestly, it's not our primary goal. We're fortunate to have fulfilling careers, but we do recognize that building a world-class community requires resources. Any revenue generated will be reinvested back into making "I AM A RECRUITER" the best it can be. 🌱 Recently, I came across this insightful interview with Ishan Sharma on Gary Vaynerchuk. His words resonated deeply with our mission. 👇 https://lnkd.in/gFdnBbWy It reinforced our belief in the power of community and the impact we can make together. Let's connect, share, and elevate the TA profession! #IAMARECRUITER #TalentAcquisition #Community #Passion #Growth
