From a blanket ban on generative AI, to the USSF Generative AI Challenge in fall 2024, and now the release of the USSF FY2025 Data & AI Strategic Action Plan. But this is NOT the start of momentum. That’s already been building, thanks to the United States Space Force Guardians (and a handful of folks in industry) who pushed through the ban and made progress while others stayed stagnant (and often blocked progress). This plan is top-down support in published form—and if it’s backed by action, it could really accelerate things. Now let’s see if they do. Supra Coders Data/AI cohort that are actually empowered by leadership to use those skills in their units after they earn them? Maybe even some contract actions—or fast modifications of existing ones—that make AI integration mandatory AND operator driven in both new AND legacy software?
