🌍 Today is World Health Day — a global reminder that health is a human right and the foundation of thriving communities. This year, the World Health Organization (WHO) launches the campaign 'Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures.' A powerful call to action to end preventable maternal and newborn deaths — and to ensure that every mother and baby gets the best possible start in life. 👶 💙 Why it matters: 💔 Every 14 seconds, a newborn dies within their first month. 💔 Every 2 minutes, a woman loses her life during pregnancy or childbirth. 💔 In conflict zones, a woman’s risk of dying in childbirth is 1 in 51 — compared to 1 in 593 elsewhere. These numbers aren’t just statistics. They represent real lives — and they demand real action. 💡 What is WHO calling for? ✅ Greater awareness of maternal and newborn health gaps ✅ Smart investments in women’s and babies’ healthcare ✅ Community support for parents and frontline healthcare professionals ✅ Access to life-saving information during pregnancy, childbirth & beyond 💥 What can we do? 🗣️ SPEAK UP: Use your voice and your platform — share, post, and raise awareness using hashtags #HopefulFutures and #HealthForAll 💸 DONATE: Support WHO’s mission to protect mothers and babies worldwide 🎓 EDUCATE YOURSELF: Join the below upcoming online events at https://lnkd.in/ejBUPnPE 🔗 "Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures: Sustainable Development Goal and the constellation of care" 🔗 "Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights: Advancing Health, Equity and Development" Let’s work together to create a world where every mother survives and every child thrives. 💪🪴 #WorldHealthDay #GlobalHealth #MaternalHealth #NewbornCare #HealthEquity #SDGs #HopefulFutures #HealthForAll
