We are thrilled to announce the fourth speaker at our recent Dubai event MyLand Agriculture, A Soil Health Company. Founded in 2017, MyLand is a pioneering company in regenerative agriculture, tackling the critical issue of soil degradation. MyLand’s innovative solution involves extracting native microorganisms from a farm’s soil, reproducing them on-site, and reintroducing them through existing irrigation systems. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, with operations across multiple U.S. states, MyLand aims to sustainably improve soil health and enhance agricultural productivity. The $150 billion global soil health market is fueled by the need for sustainable agriculture, food security, and climate change mitigation. Our Family Office is taking a closer look at their technology to take a view on this opportunity. #UCEACapital #investing #familyoffices #Dubai #regenerativeagriculture #innovation #irrigation #sustainability

Sustainable farming is the heart of what we do. It’s about more than just what we take from the land – it’s what we give back that really counts. 🌿🌳 Every drip in our irrigation system, every compost heap, and each beneficial bug we introduce plays a part in a larger story. It’s a story about respect – for our soil, our ecosystem, and the future of farming. We’re creating a haven where nature and nurture work hand in hand to bring forth the best fruit possible. The birds, the bees, the flowers, the trees – they all join us in this delicate dance of sustainability. This is how we grow food that feeds the soul as well as the body. #SustainableFarming #EcoOrchard #Azerbaijan #PimAgro

Growing Solutions: Soilless Farming Paving the Way for Egypt's Agricultural Future Soilless agriculture - also known as hydroponics - means growing plants using nutrient-rich water without soil and inside highly controlled greenhouses. In Egypt, Plug’n’Grow is revolutionizing agriculture with soilless farming techniques, also known as hydroponics. This method saves up to 90% of water compared to traditional farming, crucial in a country facing annual water deficits and expected water scarcity by 2025. Soilless farming offers a sustainable solution amid shrinking arable land and urbanization. Though primarily used for leafy greens and simple vegetables due to high startup costs, it addresses issues like soil-borne diseases and dehydration. With water conservation at its core, hydroponics presents a promising path for Egypt's agricultural landscape, tackling challenges while nurturing a more sustainable future. #Agriculture #Hydroponics #Sustainability #Egypt #Innovation

Thank you to all the people and business I met in Kununurra and Wyndham last week. The Ord Irrigation scheme really is awe inspiring for what can be done when. What was is “LESS” inspiring is hearing that the Federal Government has removed the port of Wyndham from the list of accredited First Port of Entry (FPOE) meaning that while international vessels can still dock there to ship out Minerals, no vessel can dock there to deliver fertiliser for the Ord Irrigation Scheme only 100km away. This seems to be a hangover from the COVID lockdowns when it was “too difficult” to fly staff into Western Australia from Darwin because of the states isolationist policy at the time. While Darwin is "only" 850km away (the same distance as Sydney to Melbourne!) and seems a viable alternative (if you squint really hard), the reality is that Darwin cannot accommodate bulk fertiliser imports because it lack sufficient port infrastructure to store fertiliser meaning that it needs to be shipped in containers increasing the cost of the delivered fertiliser by 25% compared to bulk via Port Wyndham. Sometimes it just feels like the bureaucrats in the big cities are trying on purpose to sabotage agriculture and private industry.

Our Initiative #Future Food Together supports the #WORLD FOOD DAY – Right to Food 2024. And what could be more important to us than supporting those who produce our daily food? Small farmers in particular often form the backbone of the food supply in developing countries, and yet they have only limited access to modern sustainable farming technologies, adequate irrigation infrastructure, and market access. #Future Food Together addresses these challenges. And sometimes all it takes is just a small incentive to create a big change. Read more about it in our story Small Impulse, Big Change from our project region in the Mondulkiri province in eastern Cambodia https://lnkd.in/eJYNeVfm
