Wrong Way drivers are a major hazard on American roadways. Having a solution to detect and alarm for a wrong way drivers is a critical tool for any DOT agency. The AXIS Q1656-DLE Radar-Video Fusion camera can be one of those tools. In this real world demo, the Q1656-DLE is deployed to cover a 4 lane roadway where wrong way drivers happen frequently. This video shows 3 different examples from the same site where a wrong way driver was successfully detected and alerts were sent to authorities. The video shows some overview shots from a separate camera located next to the Q1656-DLE. In all 3 examples, you can see how the radar on the Fusion camera successfully detected a wrong way driver, leveraging the multiple line crossing technology for accuracy. Higher resolution gives greater detail which in turn gives us a better ability to detect and measure temperature.
