TRILOGY Receives Critical Capital Funding to Expand Mental and Behavioral Health Services on Chicago’s South Side TRILOGY is excited to announce the receipt of funding to enhance community mental and behavioral healthcare on Chicago’s South Side through the Illinois General Assembly. The Illinois Fiscal Year 2025 budget has allocated $750,000 for crucial capital improvements at Trilogy’s new location in the Chatham neighborhood. This investment will support the necessary renovations to expand mental health services in the area. Trilogy will use the funds for interior renovations to create suitable spaces at its 24,000-square-foot wellness center at 8541 S. State Street, where clinical teams will provide responsive healthcare services. “We’re grateful to our legislative partners for this support,” said Kimberly Casey, Trilogy board member. “There’s a huge need for mental healthcare on the South Side of Chicago. Residents want this type of service in their community. Trilogy’s new center is a place where so much healing will happen.” The Chatham location currently features a drop-in center named Ujima Point and is accepting adult clients for individual and group therapy. Trilogy will also establish intensive community outreach teams, recovery services, a dedicated child and adolescent services team, supported employment services, case management, an on-site pharmacy, and more. I'm back home after the Behavioral Health Tech Conference in Phoenix last week. Here are three things I'm thinking about: 1. Mental health is a complex, thorny global problem. And, while much work remains to address the magnitude of the problem, it's heartening to see the field of #BehavioralHealthTech emerge over the past dozen years to offer solutions. In our work & others, we’ve seen how sustainable approaches to improve mental health most often require human connection. In recent years, we shifted our paradigm at SuperBetter from #digital to #TechEnabled to reflect this insight. 2. I am grateful for Solome Tibebu and the Behavioral Health Tech team for their vision & leadership to bring so many smart, passionate & good-hearted people together at #BHT24 to learn from each other and collaborate. Each session I attended was high quality, and every panelist offered valuable perspectives. As a bonus, every panel had one or two panelists who totally awed me with their insights, wisdom & heart for fostering real change. 3. #YouthMentalHealth was in the spotlight! Many excellent panels discussed the seriousness of the problem and shared innovative approaches for improving care. On the flip side, #prevention is incredibly hard, and the industry is still working to crack the code on truly scalable innovations to #proactively empower the mental health of youth & young adults. We believe our easy-to-teach SuperBetter mindset intervention can play a role and empower new, proactive solutions that fill the gap for prevention that is evidence-based, accessible and globally scalable. On a personal note, It was fun to see old friends & meet new allies! I look forward to returning next year for #BHT25 in San Diego.

The 2024 Behavioral Health Tech (BHT2024) conference was an incredibly energizing and inspiring event—the largest gathering focused on expanding access to mental health, substance use, and autism/IDD care through technology, health equity, and innovation. The passion and commitment to making a difference in behavioral health were palpable, and it was motivating to be surrounded by so many like-minded individuals dedicated to improving lives through tech-driven solutions.   One standout session was Encouraging Mental Health as a Public Health Priority with Darshak Sanghavi, Kat McDavitt, Kody Kinsley and Umair A. Shah, M.D., M.P.H. The discussion highlighted the critical role of real-time data and community engagement in shaping effective, informed policies and conversation on incentive-driven programs that motivate regions to develop tailored behavioral health strategies aligns so well with our mission at Reciprocity Health.   Behavioral health truly is a public health priority, and the insights shared at #BHT2024 will be invaluable as we work to create more equitable, accessible, and responsive systems of care.
