What a milestone for Moment Energy! Receiving this $6 million tax credit means more than just funding—it's a vote of confidence in our vision to enable all retired EV batteries to be repurposed by 2030. I’m thrilled about our expansion to develop Gigawatt-hours (GWh) of energy storage as it brings the world one step closer to ensuring all humans have access to clean and reliable power. This new facility will be pivotal in repurposing EV batteries supporting grid modernization, creating jobs, and keeping critical materials in North America. We have access to hundreds of Megawatt-hours to Gigawatt-hours of supply and are preparing for the wave of hundreds of GWh's over the next couple years with our battery supply partners. We are excited that this facility will generate over half a Billion dollars reinvested in economic development per year. It’s an exciting next step in our mission to provide sustainable energy that supports our communities. A huge thank you to our team and partners at local universities and national labs who are integral to this project. Together, we are powering up a cleaner, more resilient future. #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #CleanTech #BESS #EVBatteries #Repurpose
Big news from Moment Energy! We're thrilled to announce a $6 million tax credit awarded by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to build North America's first Gigawatt hour-scale UL 1974 certified manufacturing facility for repurposing retired electric vehicle batteries. This initiative is supported through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)'s 48C tax credit program, aiming to provide access to clean, affordable, and reliable battery energy storage systems. Our new facility will transform retired EV batteries into robust battery storage solutions for grid modernization, ensuring essential materials are retained within North America.
