Back to Basics. Know your Average Check. Understanding your average check is key to identifying customers' spending patterns and determining their average spending in your restaurant. This makes you understand what a day of customers spend in your restaurant. This also helps you identify which days have more potential for diners to spend more so managing costs becomes better. While the average check is variable, understanding it over time can reveal spending patterns, which can help in long term planning.
