The infrastructure shortfalls in the building, the missing installations and monitoring of the supposedly existing systems, the faulty emergency exit points that should not have been technically approved according to the architectural plans, and the location of the hotels’ area being outside the municipality’s jurisdiction — yet neither the Bolu Municipality nor the Ministry of Tourism, responsible for the hotels’ area, have managed the situation properly despite its seriousness, opting instead to engage in politics against each other as a defence mechanism to protect themselves from feelings of guilt and to subsequently shirk responsibility… As the life of the poor was already worthless, what was their life in the face of this great profit-driven system? Just a grain of sand, crush it. But as their life was devalued, other lives did not gain in value. On the contrary, as they were crushed, all lives became worthless. Sadly, this sort of negligence and brazenness isn’t surprising in our country. No more needs to be said, let’s all keep safe. #Türkiye
