As the sports landscape becomes more fractured, with rights across traditional TV and streaming video, following a team or finding a precise game to watch can be a confusing endeavor. Nielsen's Gracenote aims to tackle that problem with a new solution called "Gracenote On Sports," which will point sports fans to channels and apps where games are played and super-serve them with other data like real-time scores and team standings.

Every few weeks, we hear about the next extraordinary sum a streaming platform has paid for exclusive rights to stream a premium sports event. I had a chance to recruit to RedBee from time to time and it's a really cool place to work in as well as with amazing people there! The evolution of sports content in the digital age is reshaping how we watch our favorite games! By 2025, it's projected that 118 million viewers in the US will be streaming sports content 🏆📱 With streaming rights scattered across multiple platforms, following your favorite teams can get complicated. You might need Amazon Prime for Thursday Night Football, Netflix for NFL’s Christmas Day games, and YouTube for out-of-market NFL Sunday Ticket. ⚽🏀🏈 This shift isn't just affecting where we watch sports but also how we engage with them. Paramount+ saw significant growth in viewers after streaming Super Bowl LVIII, contributing to it being the most watched program ever with over 200 million viewers. What does this mean for the average sports fan? More subscriptions, yes, but also more choices and better access to specific sports content. 🏅 Are you willing to subscribe to multiple platforms to catch all your favorite games? #Streaming #SportsMedia #DigitalAge

Diamond Sports Group will prioritize streaming as it seeks to reorganize post-bankruptcy. Going forward, sports fans can stream local games for the teams in its portfolio in-market through the newly named FanDuel Sports Network and eventually also through Amazon Prime Video. This opens up fresh ad inventory on these streaming platforms, giving advertisers more opportunities to access live sports. #livesports #streaming #advertising

https://lnkd.in/gpbe57Zx Another subscription to keep track of... Consumer fatigue does happen and who wants to spend another $40 a month on another subscription? 1) Launch and Pricing: Venu Sports is set to launch in the fall of 2024, with an estimated subscription cost between $40 and $50 per month. 2) Channel and Content Offering: The service will include 16 live sports channels, such as ESPN, Fox Sports, and Warner Bros. Discovery’s sports channels, and will cover major sports leagues including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and NCAA sports. 3) Bundling and Accessibility: Venu Sports will be accessible via a new app and can be bundled with other streaming services like Disney+, Hulu, and Max, providing a comprehensive sports viewing experience outside of traditional pay TV.
