We’ve created a toolkit for journalists who want to cover deaths in their local jail or prison. As a person moves through the U.S. criminal justice system, many events trigger documentation that you can request, and we want to help you access and interpret those documents and data.   The toolkit includes: • A tipsheet with context about the Death in Custody Reporting Act • A free illustration • A list of expert sources If you’re working on a story about a death behind bars in your community, you can schedule a consultation with journalists from The Marshall Project to talk through any obstacles you’re hitting along the way: https://lnkd.in/ejHY9AiU
