This came from recent research conducted by RingCentral, a leader in AI-first enterprise communications. It may only reflect a small sample size, but this is not an uncommon belief. Most people hate dealing with customer service because they often feel like they're in for a painful experience. You can only imagine how people feel if nearly 20% of them would rather fight off a swarm of cockroaches than speak to customer service. The industry has created these feelings, and it's up to us within the industry to change them! There are many ways to improve your customer service that we've all heard before, but here are the three simplest and most effective ways, in my opinion: 1. Understand your customer's needs: You won't be able to relate to your customers if you don't know what they need from you. 2. Train empathy: Possibly the best way to improve customer loyalty and your business's perception is by being friendly and empathetic with your customers. They want to feel like their problems matter, and they want to feel heard. 3. Encourage honest customer feedback: If you want to improve your customer service, who better to ask than your customers? If you give them the opportunity, they will tell you what they like and don't like and where they think you can improve.
