Indeed, the scientific community must acknowledge that the pursuit of knowledge is inherently political—a struggle against totalitarianism and obscurantism. However, in our current era, many scientists, driven by the fear of losing their status or privileges within dominant power structures, tend to suppress their political convictions, especially those tied to human rights and fundamental moral values. This self-censorship undermines the ethical responsibility of science, reducing it to a technocratic tool detached from the very ideals it should serve.
