Opportunity Title: Disaster Risk Management Analyst Organization: UNDP Location: Harare, Zimbabwe Application Deadline: April 1, 2025 Job Description: UNDP Zimbabwe is seeking a Disaster Risk Management Analyst to support the implementation of the Zimbabwe Resilience Building Fund (ZRBF) Phase 2 project. The role focuses on strengthening disaster risk assessments, monitoring systems, and setting up a Disaster Risk Information Management System linked to the National Emergency Operation Centre. The analyst will provide technical support, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure quality assurance of project activities. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical guidance on disaster risk governance, assessments, and monitoring systems. Support the establishment of a Disaster Risk Information Management System. Coordinate with national, provincial, and district stakeholders for project implementation. Facilitate knowledge management, reporting, and communication. Ensure quality assurance and utilization of project results. Qualifications: Advanced degree (master’s or equivalent) in Social Sciences, Disaster Management, or related fields (or a bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience). Minimum 2 years (with master’s) or 4 years (with bachelor’s) of relevant experience in disaster risk management and monitoring. Experience in emergency preparedness, early warning systems, and community-based projects. Fluency in English and Shona and/or Ndebele is required.
