There's a McDonald's China outlet in Shenzhen that is unlike any other in the world -- it's on the front lines in the battle against climate change. The franchise in southern China is using special bricks that do more than simply keep the restaurant standing. They also store carbon! The wall, which is 23 cubic meters, made with these special bricks can absorb as much carbon as a palm tree would in 37 years. Imagine that kind of impact scaled globally. The carbon-storing bricks were developed by Clean CO₂, one of many companies backed by our CarbonX Program, which supports low-carbon tech innovation. 📺 Watch to see carbon-storing bricks in action. 🔗 Learn more about CarbonX Program 2.0 and how to get involved! https://lnkd.in/d-PufVu6 #CarbonX #ClimateTech #CarbonCapture #GreenTech

Amazing.
Since I got this today, I was very suspicious!
That’s genuinely incredible—quiet innovation with massive scaling potential. Love seeing climate tech applied in such visible, everyday places like McDonald’s. Makes the impact feel real, not abstract. Curious how durable and cost-effective these bricks are at scale?
An inspiring leap toward sustainability! McDonald's China is setting a powerful example in climate action with carbon-storing bricks that absorb significant CO₂. A game-changing innovation by Clean CO₂ through the CarbonX Program, imagine the global impact if scaled. Truly paving the way for a greener future! McDonald's China Tencent
