The credit unions of Manitoba — Access Credit Union, Assiniboine Credit Union, and Steinbach Credit Union —have donated $250,000 to create the Manitoba’s Credit Unions Play Space at HSC Winnipeg. This new indoor area provides children and teens in mental health care with a supportive environment for yoga, fitness, reading, and music. “From our charity golf tournament to our own donations, to our system partnerships like the one announced today, we look forward to these continued collaborations that serve all Manitobans,” said Larry Davey, MBA, ICD.D, President and CEO, Access Credit Union. Although people may get involved and invested, communities often don't see significant improvements in social sustainability. The Havering Volunteer Centre has been making a real difference in #Havering, thanks to support from the #LowerThamesCrossing Community Fund. With this funding, it’s registered 138 new volunteers, including 52 young people working on their Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
