Technoform North America’s Post

Revisiting Helen Sanders' blog from a few months ago, "Got great windows? Knocking down the financial barriers to adoption through cultural transformation." As presented at Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA)'s annual conference, barriers to adopting high-performance façades are the focus of a research report by the Facade Tectonics Institute (FTI) for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Helen Sanders and Stephen Selkowitz, supported by Valerie Block, conducted the study. In this blog Sanders takes a look into the underlying causes of a second barrier (see this previous blog for the first https://lnkd.in/etnrstZH): “There is insufficient return on investment (ROI) on the first cost increase of high-performance façades.” This blog also includes an interesting case study by PAE Engineers provides a financial blueprint for developer-led high-performance buildings.
